Doing Less While Getting More Done
2008-03-20
Take advantage of Inspiration every day by prioritizing peace-producing activities. Whatever makes you feel good and peaceful is a clue to the source of your inspiration. Perhaps you like to look out your window at the sunrise. Or you like to walk your dog, you like to play an instrument, or play with your child, or cook a gourmet meal, or sit before a fire with your spouse. All of these moments are inspired. Most of all, practice yoga and meditation, because these put you in a profoundly open and inspired frame of mind.
When you tap into Inspiration on a daily basis you will be guided as to what, when and how to do things. When you rely on this guidance, it may seem that you are not getting enough stuff done. Try to be OK with this. It takes self-confidence to live in a state of incompleteness without fear or worry. Trust that the essentials WILL get handled. Everything else can be let go of.
The feeling of getting less done is the price you pay for the privilege of being attentive, in love with your life, and inspired.
Actually, you will be able to take care of everything with less feeling of doing. It's just the ego's feeling of "doing"--feeling busy and stressed--that subsides.
Peaceful non-doing actually gets everything done in the perfect amount of time.
