Think Yoga is Expensive? Try the Alternatives

2008-12-05

Dear Friends:

This is for folks who think that yoga is too expensive for them:  If yoga classes are expensive, then not having a yoga practice is much, much more so.

Are you ever bothered by body pain, headaches, stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, low energy and/or digestive problems?  Even if you are fortunate enough to have good health coverage that pays for medication and treatment, these problems are still costing you a great deal.

Think about all the time that these problems take out of your life?  How much time are you wasting on being in pain and distress--valuable time you could be spending happily making money or simply making the most of what you already have?

It's well-accepted that yoga practiced with regularity heals and prevents a vast range of physical and mental conditions.  Yoga relieves pain, helps you sleep, regulates metabolism, and smooths your emotions.  Much more than just exercise, yoga is nourshment for your soul.

The cost of classes at our studio is $10-$25 per week.  What can you purchase for such a small sum that will bring you so much good health, freedom from pain, and deep peace?

There are many frivolous ways to spend money, but yoga is not one of them.  Your physical needs for food, shelter, clothing and health care are substantial.  If you value yourself, then you have no emotional resistance to creating a comfortable material life for yourself.

If you want to feel and be your best you will need to do the extraordinary--to know and act on the importance of feeding your soul.  Health, happiness, and inner peace will cost you something, as anything we value costs us something.  The question is, do you want to invest a small amount now, or (very likely), a lot more later?

Life is short, and none of us knows the future.  We only have right now to make the most of the life we have been given.  If you haven't given yoga a sincere try yet, or if you have dropped it for some reason, consider giving yourself the gift of yoga now.

Especially if you are having difficulty right now, I want you to know that you CAN have the happiness, abundance, and inner peace that you really want.  Yoga can help.

Peace and blessings,
Ruth Anne
