Thoughts on Yoga

Don't Wait for Things to Get Better!

2008-10-31

Dear Friends:

To learn yoga is to create of a peaceful refuge for yourself.  This is essential for healing, happiness and personal growth.

In order to operate in the world the we have to deal with difficult people, negative experiences, pressure and strain.  As much as we can enjoy the pleasures of material life, we suffer too.

Many people are spending most or all of their time on the externals.  Job, home, family are all important.  Unfortunately, none of these can provide lasting happiness and deep inner peace that comes with frequent quiet inner communion.

Most people don't know how to achieve a strong enough experience of that inner communion.  Fortunately, yoga teaches us how.  When you come to yoga, you leave the world outside the door.  You shift gears into a sweeter pace.  The techniques are do-able, specific, and adaptable to your every need. Worries, pain and striving drain away.

Sound too good to be true?  It's not at all.  Yoga was created to bring people back to their own inner peace.  From there you regain perspective about your entire life.  Problems shrink, and your capacity to deal with them grows.

You may arrive at class feeling tired, worried, overworked.  By going through the practices, you shift your attention to the deeper part of yourself.  This part of you is always happy and at peace.  You finish your session feeling nourished and refreshed.

You don't have to wait for your life to get better.  Feeling good and happy is within reach today.  Set about creating a peaceful refuge for yourself, both inside your heart and in the material world.

Enjoy this beautiful day.
In Love and Light,
Ruth Anne
